Hi,

I read somewhere in the thread that HPV vaccine is required for woman in the age between 12 and 26 for the medical exam, and it can take up to 7 months to complete? Does it mean I need to start the medical exam now? My case number is AS6xxx. What happen if I haven't completed my medical exam on the interview date? Can I submit it later or I have to reschedule the appointment?
Thanks !!

You don't need to complete the whole course of vaccinations before attending your interview. All what the medical team will like to see is that you have started and taken the first course. You will continue with the rest when you move to the US.

I don't know if the rules have changed from last year but when I was with my friend at the civil surgeons office the doctor told us that she was happy that my friend had all her vaccin for HPV since, according to her...no visa will be stamped until the entire 3 vaccins have been given but it doesn't mean you get a denial.

On top of that IMO the vaccin is very good to get to prevent certain things. Another friend of mine might not have gotten the the issues if she had received this vaccin but that wasn't available 20 yrs ago. Soon there will be a vaccin for boys as well:)

Wow, that sucks..So I have to wait for the decision until I have all my medical ready?
Do you think it will affect their decision?
Do you think I should do the medical right away instead of waiting for my number to become current?
Thanks bentlebee.

Btw, do you also apply for a GC? Because your status said "my friend's case" and you seem to know a lot about the DV program. I'm just curious :-p

Guys,

I just read that HPV vaccine is no longer required for immigration purposes since Dec 14, 2009. So I guess I no longer have to worry anymore :-)

The medical exam is valid for one year. There is no need to wait until your number becomes current even if the HPC vaccine is not needed anymore.
A medical exam taken in September 2010 will be valid until September 2011, the end of the DV2011. So there is no reason to wait until later if you know for sure that you want to continue with the visa process.
Most people are going to be current way before September 2011. I for one, hopefully current in December, plan to take my medical exam in the August-September time frame, so I do not need to worry about it later.
