How to withdraw I-485?

My previous employer sponsored my green card.
I-140 was approved in Aug.2001. I-485 was filed on Oct.19, 2001. Myself and 50 others were let go on Oct.26,2001.

Company lawyer who filed I-485 on my behalf informed me later that she can not represent me anymore.

I joined another company in Jan.14, 2002. The new company filed for Labor Certification for my green card in Dec.2003.

My previous employer has not withdrawn the I-140 so far. Now I have received a second Finger Print Notice on the previous I-485 application.

I would like to know whether AC21 portability law can succeed in my case.

If not, I want to withdraw the previous I-485 application. Can I do it myself? Any form to be filled in? And any fees to be paid?

Thanks in advance.

It seems likely, especially if the I-140 was never withdrawn. I wouldn't withdraw that I-485, but how come it hasn't been ajudicated yet?
