How to obtain my US entry/leave dates?

Hello there!

Thank you all so much for the feedback and all the information I found on this site. I hope someone can help me with my question.

I've been Lawful Permanent Resident for 6 1/2 years. I've been going back and forth Europe many times as I was s full time student over there. I didn't abandon my continuous residence and I it's time to file my N400 now. The problem is during these years I changed 2 passports and I recorded my travel dates on my computer. Unfortunately, few months ago I've lost this information and now I don't have them. I can't fill in the correct dates on my form.

Any ideas where can I obtain these dates? I'm sure INS/USCIS have them, but how can I get them?

Thanks in advance!

File a FOIA with CBP requesting your travel dates. Be prepared to wait a few months to receive the information from CBP.

it will take up tp 6 months to get the travel record from CBP, if you go to the interview without the old passports or copies of your passport your officer may delay his decision on your case untill he review your travel record on his own

Is it ok to guess the dates?

No, it's not ok.

OP,

What happened to your old passports?

Sometime, even if people fill the travel dates correctly, IO can ask for the passports and check all the dates.

In my case, IO asked how many times I travelled and did i stay overy 6 months any time? And checked few of my entry/exit stamps.

Approximate dates are generally OK if you're not close to the limits of the physical presence or continuous residence requirements. However, it seems the OP has spent extensive time outside the US while studying, so getting the dates right will be very important in this case.

Entry/exit stamps depend on where you travel. Most of my trips out of the US are to visit family in Canada. On several trips my passport was not stamped at all. On others, I've received an entry stamp on my return to the US. The record of my travel in my passport is therefore very fragmentary and incomplete.

That's right. U.S doesn't stamp at 'Departure'. Whereas, India stamps both at departure/arrivals.

I have the same situation. out of 5 trips, I only have an exit and entry stamped for 1 trip. Luckily a former N-400 filer told me to note the dates that I travel so it is easier when filling out the N-400.
