How to go about AC-21

Hi,
I filed GC with employer A in Dec-2001. 140 Approved in 2003. 485 Pending since 2004. Now I want to switch jobs.

How Do I go about doing it? Should I file for AC-21 or wait for INS to issue RFE/NOID etc.? What is the safest route.

Also I have been fingerprinted for a second time last week. People @FP office told me that you should get an interview soon. So in case I dont file for AC-21 myself but get interview call after I change employer; Will it not informing INS be considered against me.

Please guide me here. Also on the salary part the salary on labor is 68K/year+ benefits however the new job is a consulting thing and $65/Hr. without benefits. Will this vast difference impact AC-21 in any way?

Please advice!!!

------------------ if your file is sent to local office then only Interview date after local office gets your file. you can take the new employer same/similar job duty and permanent job OFFER letter at the time of Interview

My husband case was transferred to the local office, for sure 95% of cases the service center wont to approve they send the case to the local office, is a kind of strategy...... but well our case is pending since jun 2006, ncs send the case in march 2007 the 140 was approved in jan 2007, now we received the date for the interview and we will do again the second fingerprints before the interview, don't feel bad not always the employment petition are approve by mail....no!!! 60% can be approved and send the GC by mail, but dont worry if you receive the interview....or maybe not...we want to do the ac21 portabilty, but if we do this now we are expouse that the office local send the portability to the service center for review and thats mean wait more, so we are looking for some attorney and ask if it is relevant to proof the w-2of the petitioner employment,, some lawyer said the employment petition is just a future offer....so you can proof paystub and the letter for the offer...but is no relevant to proof w-2 with the petitioner employment... so now as you can see i am close to my interview....and it's hard to decide for the portability,,,,,my husband has 2 jobs thas why we are not sure...just because we didnt w-2 for 2006 with the petitioner company ....but we did with the second company the w-2 06..... so if i'll receive answers about YOUIJUST NEED THE LETTER AND THE PAYSTUB i will not use the portability but if it is opposite and we need to proof w-2 before the GC ith the petitioner I will....take care and good luck for you, i keeping crossing my finger to resolve soon this questions

sorry... well my case is same like you employment petition, is not necesary to receive the GC by mail, somepeople think that is you submitted petition employment you will receive the approve by mail,,,,, they can pick you for an interview sometimes they need you for any reason...we are waiting one year and finally our checkname is clear and nsc send our case to the local office now we'll have an interview....YOU SAID THAT THE OFFICER TOLD YOU ABOUT YOUR INTERVIEW, HOW CAN YOU CONFIRM? OR YOU HAVE A NOTICE ABOUT YOUR CASE WAS TRANSFERRED?
