Friends,

My kid has been exempted from FP because of the age under 14years old. My kid will be 14 years old next month.

Will CIS issue FP notice automatically as soon as the kid become 14years old?
Otherwise should I do something to request CIS of the FP for my Kid?

My family's 485 have been pending in VSC from Nov.01, and RFE received on Jan. 04.
I worry VSC can left my family's file behind when they pick up to adjudicate and realize no FP of my kid.

Please post any experience whose kid's age became 14 years during the 485 pending period.
Thank you.

FP for kid

Dreamcometrue,

I have a similar situation as yours. My case was transferred to local office in 01/04. My lawyer sent a letter reminding them about a kid becoming 14 soon. Today I received the FP letter. However, it says this on the letter:

Please disregard this Notice if:
1. ...
2. ...
3. You were under 14 years of age or over 79 at THE TIME YOUR APPLICATION WAS FILED.

So it seems to me that they should never issue a FP notice to a kid if the kid is younger than 14 when the application was filed.

I'm in the same situation.
A little background:
When I applied, I had one child >14 so I sent the money for the fingerprints etc. I got FP notices for me and my wife but no notice for my daughter. I called the lawyer, the lawyer called the INS the INS said: " everything is fine, sometimes the notices come on different days" I got a FP notice for my daughter dated the same day the lawyer called. Meantime I had already gone for my fingerprints so I trekked back down to the office so my daughter could have hers done.

Since then, my second child turned 14. I called the lawyer about this a she said that, if they want to do fingerprints they will send a notice. Often they do not ask for them, sometimes they do.

At the rate we are going I'll have a third or maybe a fourth child needing fingerprints too. :) Mine are about to expire so I just given up and decided the next thing I will see is some messed up request for fingerprints for only part of the family and I will be making multiple trips to the FP processing center.
