How to get fingerprinted without flying all the way to Honolulu?

I am an American citizen, and my new wife from Korea is in the process of getting her green card. We both live in Hilo, on the big island of Hawaii. In a couple of weeks, she is supposed to fly to Honolulu on the island of Oahu to get fingerprinted. This fingerprinting only takes about 5 minutes, so it is very inconvenient to buy a plane ticket just for that, because we don't have much money right now.

We live in one of the larger cities in Hawaii. Is there any way for my wife to get fingerprinted here, so she doesn't have to make a plane trip? There must be a way to ask Immigration to accept a notarized fingerprint, or something where my wife doesn't have to go all the way to Honolulu in person.

when i went for my fingerprints the guy at the ASC told me that you could actually get fingerprinted anywhere in the country, it just depends if they will take you.

The only catch is that they will fingerprint you on the day of appointment and not before or after that. I went to another center myself to get fingerprinted on my appointment day and there was no issue.

If you like, you can confirm this with your local ASC as well.
