How to get correct backdate green card, help please!

Hi, I've got green card on 2005, the backdate should be 2004, but I didn't get the right one. Do you think I still can fill the form and ask the correct one after 4 years? Please give me some suggestions, thank you!

you need to do it before you apply for citizenship though.
