How to find the current status (is H4 or H1?)

Hi,
I am currently on H1B. My wife is on H4 - with the valid I-94s till Aug 2009.

My wife got a sponsership from a company for H1 - and she is about to get her H1B appoval(Hopefully from 1-oct-06). I understand that her H4 status will be OUT upon getting the H1B - papers with new I-94.

While we are waiting for her H1B to come through - I am planning to transfer my H1 to company B. Company B has asked for I-539 from me for my wife.
They are in the process of filing the same.

Please let me know how to find the actual status that she would be holding say on 5-Oct-06, If I do not have the processing dates.

If you want her to transfer to a H1 visa, then tell your company that you do not need to file 539.
If you do not file 539 and even if her H1 gets rejected, she will be in good H4 status. Remember H4 is not company specific, untill your H1 is valid, and she has a valid H4 stamp, it is good, does not matter what company name is on there.
