How i will know..if I am stuck in name check??..

Keep on trying. if you get a different person, she may answer you questions.

I was lucky the other day, she said, my name check got cleared, it was a big relief for me, when my lawyer said it did get cleard and infopass confused me saying it did not get cleared. Also she mentioned local DO's system may not have all the updates.

Baski,

Just curious how your lawyer knew that your name check was cleared?
do they get notification when your name check clears?

thanks,

Also..what is infopass ???

In some cities you can schedule your appt to your local service center online using what is called "Infopass"

Go to USCIS's main page and they have information about Infopass

thank you..

I called the customer service and this time she told me that my case is pending as they are waiting for finger printing results.

But, when i called FBI a week back..they told me they sent the results the same day.

i am confused now..not knowing whom to believe??

did anyone faced similar situation??

I spoke to FBI and they said my finger prints are complete..when i said that the Immigration is saying that the results are not received..she said that immigration might have requested for name check and they are waiting for the results on name check.

Case Status gets updated every 24 hrs!!!!

I was speaking to USCIS service person and I told her that my status is not getting reflected on the site (she told me status that didn't get reflected)

She told me that the status gets updated every 24 hrs(not every 5 min..which I thought)...

Just wanted to share this..

I requested my lawyer to talk to USCIS and they found out when they called USCIS.

Always I found out there is a difference between when we call and the lawyer call. When I called they sent out a status inquiry reply as, it will take more days to process this kind of case. when my lawyer called, I got RFE. They mentioned in the reply, there are RFE issued to the applicant. I feel it is better to get RFE than just sitting idle.

baski,

I totally agree that its better to get an RFE than just having your case sitting idle. The only time you have to worry about getting an RFE for employment is when you have not followed the process right.

I will ask my lawyer to follow up on name check though I doubt they will.
Goodluck

FBI Contact Info

Raju,

Can you please tell me how did you contact FBI regarding finger printing results ? When I enquired about my case with USCIS, I got the same reply as you (waiting for FP results). But, I gave my FP last novemeber. Can't believe it takes this long for them to get these results.

Code 1 biometrics, missed appointment, not in country

I have received Code1 Biometrics.
The notifications was sent dated 24th April 2006
I left for India on vacation on 30th and didn't receive the mail about the biometrics by then.

The date given was 4/7/2006, which i naturally missed.
The lawyer is working on getting a new date in May 2006.

I return back on 24th april, would i have any problems at port of entry??
Would my case be abonded? The notification apparently says so(i have a scanned copy)??
Has anyone been in a similar situation and came out without major issues?

Infopass & name check

Hello:
Could you let me know what infopass is? Is it possible to check the status of your 'name check' through this infopass system.

I would appreciate if you could kindly let me know on this.

Thanks.

InfoPass is a system to have an appointment with the local immigration help center to discuss your case with an immigration officer (beside many other options). when you access the home page of www.uscis.gov to the lower right, you will find "schedule an appointment" click and you can take an appointment.
