How much time for Spouse's SSN

Hi,
I got mine as well as my wife's passports stamped with I-551.My wife also applied for SSN.How much time does it take to get an SSN.

Don't be so sure....My SSN took 11 weeks 3 days because their systems were all out of whack or whatever..but the SSA is by far the most helpful agency I have ever come across. They are nice and always helpful and if you call their 800 number they are always pleasant....I really enjoyed dealing with them, actually.
 
Stamping - Spouse SSN/Maiden Name - Pl. advice soon

ok...after the years of GC ordeal..we are now scheduled for the "stamping".

My wife does not have her SSN - we use her ITIN# for filing taxes. Also, she has her Maiden name on her passport and all the GC documentation.

2 questions:

1. Do we need her SSN when we go for stamping?

2. Can we change her maiden name to married name (with Marriage certificate) during the stamping process, so that the physical card has her married name ?
