How much time for plastic card after stamping?

Friends,
I did my I-551 stamping a month ago. Today online message changed to "We ordered you a card. Will be mailed when it's ready etc.."
How long does it take for one to receive the card after the message change?

I ask 'coz I'm going to India in a month. If I get card Iwont need transit visa for france otherwise I'll ned one.

Anybody who got cards recently, pls share!

ohhh ohhh....

Do we need a transit visa for paris, if we have a passport stamping. I am flying on Air-India next month through Paris, when I called up Air-india office they said I dont need if I have the passport stamped.

Yo do u have more info on it?

i am trying to find same thing, this is such a mess man.

I am flying in 1 week's time, haven't got my approval notice which was sent out on 16th yet.

I was flying via london but they need transit if i have ADIT on passport and od not have physical card.
So i thought of going via france, but looks like they may also need one for indians.

now it is good to know that u called air india and they said u do not need it.

WOULD U MIND SHARING THE AIR INDIA NUMBER U CALLED? it would be great help for me too.

Airlines is the one who would check the visa, so if they are ok no one cares.

could u pass on air india number please???

Look in the attached spreadsheet for how many days normally it took people who had already got it..

For me it took 4 days. after Card ordred

I spoke with them, they seems to be real confuse with this stamp.......was the guy who spoke to u real confident? one who told me was not confident... :D
 
Holy crap... I called them back to ensure the transit visa issue with I-551 stamping... u r right, he doesnt know what hes saying... finally , he asked me to call France Consulate... mother father *^#*#^!!!!

It just striked me.. I still have valid H1-Visa... Who knows.. Can I show that in Paris to say that I have valid visa.

Once the card is ordered you should get it in about 10-15 days. At least that is my experience.

I checked all this crap, have been fighting with french and britishers at same time, u wanna send email? great go ahead :D , they are saying that

if u have a valid visa stamped on ur passport u do not need a transit but they do not know if ADIt is a visa or green card or waht crap.

UR H1B VISA STAMP WOULD BE CANCELLED WHEN U GO FOR I-551 STAMPING.
have u already gone for stamping?

yeah, I have completed PP stamping. They have removed I-94 from the passport but left the H1-B stamping as such.

My question is, If I show that (H1-B) as a valid visa in paris airport, are they going to run it through any system to check it.

Thanks for the info Marias. I have a month left. So decided to wait for card now that it's already ordered. I called frnech emabssy today and they told me that I need a transit visa. FYI.

Suprisingly the guy I tlaed to doesn't know if embassy i open on friday 12/24.
Who would know?!!! : :confused:

I am trying to reach by phone to the French Consulate located in newyork #: 212-606-3601, but I am only getting automated info message and no option available to speak to a Live consulate person.

Did u call a different location to get the info?

Guys,

I just hangedup the phone with Boston Consulate #: 617-542-7374. they said we dont need a Airport Transit Visa if we have a Valid I-551 passport stamping.

That is a good news!!!.. So am going to spend 35 euros (€) now to buy 100 pack beer , relax and watch some football game..

Well my laptop is safe. BE sure that you keep your laptop with you in cabin ( if luggage wt is exceeding the limits they are going to advise you to keep the laptop in checked in luggage ) be careful.. same has happened in AIR France flight as well..keep expensive items with yourself..ALWAYS

which consulate is this, French or UK?

here is another interesting thing.

I got my PP stamped today and they did not touch my h1b visa stamp, it is still there, so then why Can't I show this stamp to Air india guys when i board in? Remember Air india folks are the only one who would check visa etc. They can't runa scan or anything, even if they do it whould be ok, also few of friends who visited india via airindia told me that they won't even let you off on London airport.

So what is the big deal abt this?

Plzzzzz share some views.
