How long the life gap an asylee needs to cross? Who is more miserable than me?

Here is my record:

1) Entered US in 08/1991 as an F1 student.
2) Applied for asylum in 04/1993.
3) Final approved in 05/2000 – 7 years of peneding.
4) Filed I-485 in 06/2001.
5) Finger print in 09/2004.

I would like to know if there are any asylee brothers/sisters who entered US earlier than 1991 and are still waiting for their green card.

In other words, who is more miserable than me on this matter?

Yes yes there are people who have been waiting far long than you are. But frankly you stoped being "miserable" on the date you were granted asylum.

My brother or sister,
Please don't get satisfactory so easily in this so-called free country. As asylees, we are the third, the fourth, or even the fifth class of "citizen" in this democratic and equal society without any political rights. We are human beings with dignity and rights by God and nature. We are not dogs who are full of happiness when getting some leftover from the masters.

Well you are free to leave and settle down elsewhere. They are not pointing a gun at you and ask you to stay.

You must be "Professor" Shamshon's best student ever.

wantmygcnow,

Guess what? my baby was born in Canada and is a Canadian citizen. She will be living in Canada. I am still staying in US just because I have a job here. Making money is the only purpose I am still in US.

I no longer believe the BS of "US is the greatest country in the world".

Sadasylee....Maybe your kids will reap the rewards of this country..! In time you will realize that..

Poor little thing, you are too numb to understand the essence of freedom.

Don't worry about me. I will move to Canada to enjoy rest of my life after I make enough money in US. hahaha...

What an ingrate. Thankfully it is an extreme minority.

Sadasylee..You must also be dumbasylee. Canada is not a 3rd world country. Matter of fact, canadian immigration even allows less skilled workers like cooks and janitors to stay legal there...unlike U.S!

Maybe you need to go to canada to see what kind of opportunity you can get. Being in the greatest country in the world and then bad mouthing it..is in my opinion self-hate...

Only in a slavery nation, the slaves must appreciate any opportunity the master grants them.

Since 1996 I have been working full time and paying tax like any H1 visa holder. US gives me the opportunity to work and live here, in return, I pay tax to make contribution to this country. I don't think I owe anyone anything. I don't consider myself as a dumped dog or cat, therefore should appreciate any person who is willing to take me home. In my own country I was tortured in a hard way. For the past 14 years in US, I have been tortured in a soft way because I have been treated as the 5th class of citizen in an equal and free land.

Asylum denied in 1995, by INS officer, wich was red neck and had no clue about what country we are tallking about.
Asylum denied in 1998 by IJ stating that I am hear for economic reasen even if my olld country was bombed at that time.
BOA denied my case in 2003 with no explanation.
In 2003 motion to reopen denied, you could tell they did not even red case, only telling what evidence i submited but still no explanation.

The grass is always greener and some people are not contented no matter what. This is a sad commentary on human psychology.

So u still don't have a permanent status? I am really sorry to hear that, man. All this immigration staff is so subjective!!!Some people come here and get their aylum easily after the initial interview with CIS officer, and some have to wait for years. It's just not fair!!!

Pardon my French, but this is a bunch of crap.

I'd say illegal aliens are more miserable than you. They can't get good jobs as you can as an asylee. Anyways, from my personal experience, you need to be on top of your case all the time. Don't let an attorney handle it ,you need to take command. Here's some things I did to help me get my case worked on and eventually get my greencard.
FYI I came in in DEC 1990 as an F-1 too.
-Always notify USCIS of address changes, both by calling and by writing.
-Send inquiries about your case at least twice a year. that way they know you care about your own case and it gets noticed.
-Write your congress-man and tell him about your case. I was very close to send a letter to one of my state's congress men. They are there to help people and your taxes pay for their jobs.
-I wrote USCIS a letter telling them that their asylum system ws broken, Also that the projected dates for adjusment were out of whack and that I wanted my green card right away. That was in jan 04. I was approved in Oct. 04'
-My sister had been approved asylum 1 year before me in 1999 and is still waiting for her final approval.

Moral of the story: Sitting aroung whining will get you nowhere. Call, harass and bug USICS as much as you can and they will notice you. it sure worked for me

Honestly, I am shocked by your tearful statement. You have my full sympathy.

So I am the homeless dog who has already been adopted by US and you are the one who unfortunately haven’t.

You have your own reasons and rights to bark, and I have my reasons and rights to bark, too. Definitely you must bark more loudly than I do.

Best wish, my brother!
