Hi,
I'm currently using my H1-B working at a company in US. I plan to resign and return to my home country. How long can I stay in US after I resign (employment terminated)? I'd need to plan the timing because I have to sell my house, car, etc.

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Better sell and put it under escrow, then resign and go.

Some time sale procedure takes more than 6 months in some states. (Not in CA)

Hi,
Could someone help? I heard from a friend that after I terminate employment, I have 60 days to stay in the USA. Is this true? I've also heard that technically, I must leave immediately because I no longer have any status in USA.

Help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Are you still hanging around.? Once you decided, you have to get out of the country ASAP. Why do yu want to terminate the employment yourself first?

Practically after you resign, nobody is going to check your status, you are in status as long as you I 94 is valid.

If you are going to change H1then the problem starts. But technically, if you are not in payroll with H1 , you are out of status.
