How long after OPT expires can I stay in the US as a Canadian citizen?

My OPT expires in 13 days, and I don't have an arrangement in Canada to stay there after my OPT expires. I know as a Canadian citizen you can stay in the US without a visa for some time.

I am not sure if the new 60 day rule applies to F-1. The poster's status is clearly F or J and he/she is not on any type of work visa status (H, L or TN). The 60 day rule is supposed to be for work visas. I would apply for COS to B2 if I wanted to stay beyond my OPT. Or if you find a job, then apply for COS to H, L or TN.

The OPT grace period has been in place long before the new rules for other statuses.
The poster should also note that it may now be possible, for STEM OPTs, to get longer OPT validity. This if course would be an issue to explore on the OPT forum, not here on the TN forum.
The TN forum is not a catch-all for Canadian issues.
