How do I travle outside US after approval but befor recieving card?

My lawyer said my I485 was approved today. I don't have any proof yet.

I need to travel outside US next Thursday and come back in 10 days later. I was thinking to use AP. If my I485 is approved indeed, then my AP will be invalid, right? And I don't think the card will arrive before next Thursday.

Can you please help explain what I should do, and/or point me to some postings here to read more about how to deal with this.
 
Your AP is invalid. Make an infopass apointment and try to get an I-551 stamp in your passport. Often times, they don't want to give you the stamp. If they refuse, you ain't going anywhere.

-if you did not got I-485 approval in hand it means you dont know if I-485 is approved and you can go out and can enter with valid AP
And I don't think the card will arrive before next Thursday.

1. go out and come back
OR
book the infopass after 15 days and once you get I-485 approval notice get your passport stamped and go out
 
Just what are you talking about? His lawyer was already notified and his new status is probably already registered in USCIS database. He needs the I-551 stamp. Period.
 
I have the same problem. I planed to travel next month. I have sent email to my lawyer to ask the same question. But she has not replied yet. So far I received welcome email and Card ordered email. But I have not received approval notice by mail yet. I guess I my need the approval notice to request a passport stamp.

Will the notice mail to my address or lawyer's address?
How long does it normaly take to receive the physical card? (one USCIS email said 60days, another email said 30 days).

you can go to your nearest CIS center, and if your story is genuine, and you could present some proof, they will stamp your passport. It had worked for me and perhaps it could work for you.

My lawyer has replaied my email yesterday. She also suggest to make appointment at local office to obtain I-551 stamps. I also called USCIS hotline. A nice lady told me to use inforpass to make a appointment to local office.

FYI, apparently the approval notice sent to my home, not lawyer's office. I received it last night.
 
physical card

I got my physical card within about a week after getting the mail (and before getting the approval notice). These days the card comes fast, so you might just get it before you leave.
 
I received my physical green card already. Now I am planning to visit my country in two days. Do I have to do anything, like stamping or any other things. My minor daughter has her GC (card), but didn't have her SSN yet. I guess none them are problem. Please confirm.

-----NO ( after you come back file for new SSN card And you will get new SSN card without restrictions )

------------------not a problem, she can apply for SSN after she comes back to US by visiting nearest SSA office
I guess none them are problem. Please confirm.

You are right. I received the cards yesterday by mail. Only 5 days after welcome email and 1 day after approval notice. It's fast. I am not used to it already after the long Journey. Good, save me one day vacation leave.

no stamp required as he has the physical GC in hand. In fact if he is traveling only within the western hemisphere, he only needs his GC to re-enter. if he is traveling outside the western hemisphere, he needs the GC and his passport.
