How do I know where my I-130 went (Texas Service Center, California Service Center, etc) ?

On the website it says that "Your I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN was received on May 23, 2005. We mailed you a receipt with information about processing. It is taking between 30 and 90 days for us to process this kind of case. We will mail you a decision as soon as processing is complete."

I live in Atlanta....

Thank you!!!!

I sent the whole package to the Chicago box. What I am trying to figure out which service center my I-130 went to....

I sent all my documents to the chicago lockbox. I got my AP, work permit...I checked online and it says that I130 has been received....

How do you know where the I-130 is - what service center it went to (texas, california, etc)...

Why do you worry about your I 130? They are going to approve it with your I 485 at the time of interview.

oh, wait, now I am really confused.

Some postings say that their I-130 was approved and they got a notice, and then they had to wait for their _i485 to be approved....

so I dont know how /when it all happens...

if anyone knows, please post your timeline or feedback.

Thanks!

No. If you have filed them together, they will get adjusted together. Now GC holder can not file I 485, so they only file I 130. Which eventually get apporved and on visa number becoming available to them, they can file I485.
So only thing now you have to wait for is, An interview letter.

I thought so too...I thought that your i-130 and i-485 get approved together (if you filed together). However, the confusion come from some of the postings, where people said that their i-130 was transfered to their local office....etc.

I am just trying to read all of the postings and make sense of them. I know that some of them do not apply to me since I filed through marriage...at any rate, sounds like I should just focuse on i-485 and my i-130 will simply follow....

Right?

e17345 your receipt number on the letter you got for I 130 will have a prefix like MSC or TSC. That is the center the I-130 is forwarded to. I am in tx mailed the app to chicago lock box got I-130 receipt number starting with MSC so I guess it ended up in Missouri Service Center.

I checked CIS's website and there is only 4 service centers:

Texas SC
California SC
Nebraska SC
Vermont SC

Are there more that 4? My i-139 starts with an MSC???

Now I am really confused

All family based GC applications go the the chicago lockbox which is used by the National Benefits Center which is in Missouri. Hence you get a receipt number starting with MSC. Look here
http://uscis.gov/graphics/fieldoffices/nbc/faq.htm

Your I-130 and I-485 would be transferred to your DO around the time you are scheduled for your interview. Your I-130 could possibly have been approved before you go for the interview, if it is not, then it would be adjudicated with the I-485 during the interview.

What are you confused/worried about?

What I am confused about is where do I look to see/track my case. What I mean is simply that I would like ot keep an eye on the cases that are being processed so I know when to potenitally expect mine to be in the que...

Do I look at the DO (in Atlanta) processing dates, or somewhere else....

Thanks!

Hello!
I am so happy to find this forum.
Here is my timeline:

ND aug 11

I am in Fl,married with a US citizen in april ( I came with B1 visa), sent the app(I-13o,I-485,I-765) to chicago, my receipt number is MSC, I guess is Missouri. My I-94 is still valid until january 2006.

My questions, if you would like to help me with your advice:
1. What is the next step? The FP? In my notice they said they will schedule me for the biometrics appointment....how long should I wait?
2. When I will receive my EAD? Just after the FP, isn't it?
3. And what about I-485? They said my case will be processed in 18o days? Is it true?
I have my final exams for bachelor degree in february, I must go home in my country...What should I do?

Thank you for all of you...Please answer to me.
All the best.
