As many of you know, I've posted messages about my husband's case on a few occasions. Thanks to all of you who answered my many questions, especially Gilbert. To recap, he applied in Dec. 1996, his notice date is January 1997. After years of waiting, he finally got his fingerprinting notice the last week of July.
By some miracle, I just checked his web site and it changed to "we mailed request for additional evidence...." blah blah blah.
Whatever they ask for, we'll certainly provide. I am very happy now because I know he is almost there (in my case it only took five days after INS received my "evidence" to approve).
The reason I am posting this is to let those of you know who recently gave fingerprints that in some cases it takes very little time to hear back from INS. In the case of my husband, it took six weeks!!!!!
Perhaps there is some logic to this madness after all. Perhaps they are slowly acknowledging unfairness and starting at the beginning and not in the middle. Perhaps, oh, just perhaps, people like my husband will wait significantly less than some after giving fingerprints not because they are lucky because they applied earlier.
I'll keep you posted on what they ask from him (I'm very interested myself considering he had an interview with them and has waited soooooo long).
Best of luck,
Mirela
