My fiancee is a political asyliee from Pakistan to US. She is a greencard holder and has been in the US for 25+ years now.

I am wanting to take her to the Dominican Republic for 1 week. Is this possible. I believe her family was required to give up their citizenship to Pakistan. So it seems she is not a citizen anywhere at the momment. Is there anyway to travel outside the US? She is worried she wont be able to get back into the US. Thank you!

If she has a green card then she is free to go anywhere except Pakistan and come back without any issue.
If she has a US passport then she can go back to Pakistan as well.
Have a great time in Dominican Republic.

She has had her green card for many years. She is eligible to apply for citizenship but the family lawyer has been sitting on the applicaiton for years now. I have been asking her to do the applicaiton by herself and forget the laywer but she thinks it will take longer to start over without the laywer.

Why is she using a lawyer? It's a waste of money, and clearly TIME! Had she applied for this in time, we wouldn't be having this conversation. A refugee travel document is about $200, and the permit to re-enter is over $400. A total waste of money. Advise her to apply ASAP and fire this lawyer (unless there's something that requires a lawyer?). What do you mean by "sitting on the application?" Has he sent it in, and processing has come to a standstill?

When's the trip?

her lawyer should be disbarred, tell her to fire him immediately, he wasted the poor woman time for years, he is the most incompetent, unqualified, and dishonest lawyer I have ever heard about , she could do the naturalization application by herself, she doesn't need any lawyer
