i have seen some posts where people talk about recieving Email from KKC with their confirmation number and they won.

so what do you guys think? and why would KKC do such a thing when it's too late to process for visa!

anybody else have heard or being contacted by KKC please let us know so we can discuss and talk about this subject

So far the people I saw who got this email are those who never checked their results or they checked incorrectly by entering wrong details etc in the relevant box. As such, they are not actually "hidden" winners unless someone can come forward to confirm they checked after the second draw in July 2011, the "not selected" message came up but they are now suddenly selected after getting the email 2 weeks ago. I have yet to see anyone say this. Therefore, no hidden winners at all.

Hidden winners are those who were not shown as winners before (during first batch) but are shown during second batch.
Those are with numbers 32000 or more for EU, 73400 or more for AS, about 75000 or more for AF. I have not seen those yet.
The ones I saw are reminders for those who were supposed to check the status of their case but did not do that, even though their win was published during first batch, not second batch.

So what if they were notified by KCC? Unusual, and probably unprecedented step yes, but so what? Where in the posts did they say they were originally not selected? These are people who, as mentioned by me and the other poster above, NEVER CHECKED after the second draw or checked wrongly (such as entering first/last name in wrong order).

All those people were reminded by KCC to check their status. The reason for that was that they were first batch winners but have never accessed their records and verified their status. KCC's conclusion was they were not aware of their wins and KCC reminded them to check their status.
That was not a notification, that was a reminder.

They sent the reminders on 7/13. I am not aware of any other dates.
They waited until likelyhood of appeal of court of appeals decision became negligent. Because sending reminders could lead to loss in appeal. DOS's lawyer Chen lied to court, and sending reminders early would reveal that.

So he was not selected on July 15 2011?
How does he know that? Did he check his status after May 1 2012?
Before May 1 2012 in case he put his last name with first name he was supposed to get "not selected" response. After May 1 2012 he was supposed to get "an error in the input" message.
So if he cheked his status after July 15 2011 but before May 1 2012 saying "last_name first_name", he would see "not selected" anyway. Because the right input would be "las_name" without first_name.
Please put all dates here when he checked his status before.

he was one of may1,2011 winner and after the resulte was voided ,he waited as he told me untile july 2011 so he can check again but he was not selected (since he was one of may1 winners so he know how to check his status),and he just forget about that untile he got an email from kkc few weeks ago!........i really don't know what's his rank number ,but i will send him a message since he is just sign out, i will post his rank number as soon as he answers me!

Even though he could have checked his May 1 2011 win correctly by putting last_name only, he could have done that incorrectly around July 15 2011 by putting a combination of last_name and first_name.
So, he got "not selected" and never checked his status after May 1 2012 (when he was supposed to see a message "error in input"), right?
From my point of view, you are not "proving" anything by his case.
There are only two ways to distinguish second batch from reminder (and prove that is a second batch).
1. If the rank number is above the limits I have mentioned.
2. If he has a complete set of screenshot proving he was not selected in the first batch.

I personally beleive the following situation is not possible:
He was not a winner on July 15 after 12pm and he is a winner now and at the same time his rank number is low.

he is from Africa, and the email he got from kkc includes only a link to his confirmation number!!!!!!!!!


do you want him to doubt himself?? look he is works in internet cafe and as he told me he knows how to check status and some of people that he checked their status on july.2011 were even selected, also to mention he kept checking his untile last august!!!

Regarding African numbers, I do not know. It could be that his number is not high enough and is not a notification but just a reminder. I am aware of just one case of a first batch winner with rank number above 75000, and I do not know many AF winners with cases above 55000. Probably just that one only.

I also double the email contained link only.

Usually reminders had something like this:

Dear Diversity Visa Program entrant:

Anyway, I think the amount of second batch winners should be more significant than amount of remindees. So 1 second batch winner versus 5 remindees on the forums does not look right, it is more likely that he is mistaken and is in fact a first batch winner.

For EU winners or AS winners I am much more certain about the boundary between first batch winners and second batch winners.
EU32400 or AS73800 or above would definitely be second batch winners, not first batch winners. AF95xxx does not look so definite for being second batch winners. Very well could be first batch winner.

Hidden Winner 2012

I got the reminder email from KCC in July 13 and checked the status and found out as winner. I am so panicked because there is only two months left. I sent out the documents to KCC for the AOS since I am already in USA in OPT for One year.

Few things that I need to know:
1) In a rush I sent out the I 485 for the adjustment of status to USCIS including every required documents except the receipt of the payment from DOS which i dont have yet coz i was waiting for the reply form Kentucky Consular Office. So now, what would USCIS do wtih my application in this case. Will they reject my application or ask to send the receipt as soon as possible.?
2) I didnt know that we can send the payment $ 330 for dv lottery to DOS and was waiting for the response from Kentucky. However, I just came to know that we can send out the payment to make the process fast so i just sent the payment today.

So major concern here is what would USCIS do in this case and I am also thinking of going for the consular process which would be more faster so what do i do now to go for that process?
