Help with the Passport Agency!!

Does anyone have any experience with the NY Passport Agency for the same day passport application. I have an appt scheduled a day after my oath to request same day passport as I am going to Canada the same week for 6 days. I have already bought the Amtrak Tickets for the trip. Can someone with NY Passport Agency experience please help on the following questions:-
Is the passport issued the same date even if you have an afternoon 1pm appt or could they ask you to come back later on another date.
I plan to carry my Naturalization Certificate with my Driving License and Social Security card and pictures. Does anyone know if any additional docs are required or if it is advisable to carry any?
Can I request the Passport and Passport Card the same day and can the passport agency accept credit card or personal check for all the payments or would I need money orders/certified checks.
I live closer to Philadelphia but I think NYC passport agency would be faster and quicker. Anyone have any experience with it?I will need to take a 2 hour train for the NYC agency.
Can the passport application be delayed for whatever reason, anyone have any experience, please?

I am not sure about NY office but I went to Los Angeles passport agency and showed mY itinerary (you must bring a copy of itinerary) that was on Thursday, I was told to come and pick up passport between 9am and 3pm on Monday, I went there on Monday morning at 9.15 and I was told that it has not been printed yet, he made a short phone call, gave someone my reference number and asked them to print and bring my passport down, I wait another 20 mins and passport was ready, still hot though :)
So, same day passport should not be an issue, a family of four came and said they will fly in 6 hours and need passport asap, they said ok. AS LONG AS YOU HAVE AN ITINERARY
 
I got my passport in NY. I showed an itinerary for the next day, and they told me to pick it up 3 hours later. Tell them you've come from far away and they might issue it the same day for you. I guess they can see your address on your ID. I took whatever was asked: the application (don't sign it!), naturalisation certificate, driving licence, a copy of both of them (front and back for driving licence), itinerary, and fee, which I paid by credit card. I got both the passport book and card, though the card machine was out of service, so they sent it later by post. Notice that the naturalisation certificate counts as both proof of citizenship AND identification, but the annoying lady there INSISTED on seeing another form of ID, so I showed her my driving licence. Also, since you probably have a PA licence, you need secondary ID as well, such as your SS card, credit card, and other identification. Take all of them in case they give you trouble. If I were you, I'd also try to insist that the naturalisation certificate counts as both, so they don't hassle you for other ID.

Again, make it clear that you'd like them to issue it the same day since you have to go back all the way to Philadelphia. The entry process isn't that stringent. They'll likely let you in with minimum trouble.
