Hi,

We got married in a court a week ago (in India) and I am planning
to apply for my wife\'s H4 with all the documents and the wedding
photos (simple photos, no fire, no priest), The actual wedding
is 2 weeks from now. The court marriage was only to get H4 right
around actual wedding so as not to delay our departure. Now I am
worried that they might ask for hindu wedding photos and if we
wait for
actual wedding photos then they might say why the certificate is
old. Any help ?

Thanks,
-Muku

You start a lie then you live the lie

to make it the truth - some zen master said somewhere. Hope that the traditional ceremony is not splashed all over India.

No Title

hi mukub

traditionally in india religious marriage has more emphasis than court marriage so the consulates in india must know that most indian marriages have photos and religous ceremony so they will naturally ask for this from your spouse when she goes for the interview. The marriage certificate is proof but there have been cases where people marry for convenience and the consulate is wary of such cases so they will want more definite proof like religious marraige evidence. It may be wise to postpone your h4 interview until such time that the religous marriage has also been completed.

Be Truthful and say that you are LEGALLY married but not traditionaly yet....

If they say that u must come back after the traditional one....just say ok.

Yeah its true what jaxen said that one lie will only start a a bunch of other lies.

Im sure they would understand.....

But please do consider the fact that I am in no position to give advice. I just believe that when one is sincere, it shows and when one is lying it shows even more.
