I seem to have run into some issues with my H1 application and would appreciate any help I could get.
I was on my OPT and have been employed for almost a year now. My H1 had been applied for in March of this year. In April, I had to travel out of the country which cancelled my benefit of the automatic conversion and hence, I was told that I would need to get my H1 stamped before my OPT expires. My OPT expires on July-24 and my H1 approval is still not here. The company has changed it to premium processing and is hoping that it should get here before that day.
The next issue now:
I applied for a Canadian tourist visa so that I could go get my visa stamped there. The Canadian embassy now tells me that they will take upto 4 weeks to process my tourist visa and there is no way to expedite the process.
What are my options at this stage? Any help would be highly appreciated. Thank you
