Help!

Took TST last week, positive (16mm), X-ray negative, civil surgeon marked "Class B, Latent TB Infection" on I-693, and gave me a notes saying that since May 2008, TST>10 will be marked with LTBI, and advised me to go to Health Department.

Had taken vaccines when young. Have been in US for 11 years. Pretty sure I don't have TB. What should I do? Does LTBI affect 485 approval? How about AP/EAD? Will USCIS ask for evidence of TB treatment?

Thank you very much!

Your physician is probably wrong. I was immunized for TB also and my test was positive. Once he did the X-ray I was cleared. I showed him my immunization record at the beginning and told him my test will be positive so he was "prepared".

My suggestion: find another physician who looks a bit more inteligent and understands the basics of TB immunization.

You can get some info on the WEB, print it out and show him to see if it helps. But he might take it the wrong way .

I don't think they can approve your 485 without it.

Thanks for the info! My physician is aware of the fact that most asians had TB vaccines when young. He signed my I-693. I'm just worried that if the LTBI mark incurs a RFE what should I do. Should I take some medication now or wait till it asks...

Is there anyone who got a LTBI mark but didn't get a RFE? I'd really appreciate it if you could share your experiences a bit.

This is up to your physician if he/she wants to prescribe any medication for you and it is not allowed to give medical advice in the forum. However, if you want to explore more about latent TB infection, relation between BCG vaccine and positive PPD test, and more go to the CDC web page if you concern about your health. For the immigration advice, if the TB test is positive and the X ray is negative "normal" that is OK and you will be fine with no RFE regarding this point.
