I need some help here.
My friend is on a visit visa in USA, michigan. Her plan was was 15 days stay at her relatives.She is 7 months pregnant and has been advised not to travel.
What are her options availible now if she has to deliver in USA?? Can she do that?? How is teh medical facility in USA? Will she have to bear the hospital costs by herself?(which i have heard is quite outrageous).In Idia the Insurance would have taken care of it.
I heard that any child born on US soil is a US citizen, so does she have to apply for a US passport once teh child is born? If yes what is the process? Also will she have any problem while leaving USA alone with her child .

I know there are lot of questions but i would be grateful if someone helps me to help her on this.
 
A child born in the U.S. is a citizen unless the parent is a diplomat with diplomatic immunity (or an invading enemy alien).

If the child is a USC and poor, the child will be eligible for medicaid.

A U.S. passport will be required for travel by the child. All that is needed is the U.S. passport and parental consent of both parents (or a single unwed mother with no father in the picture). I am assuming that the mother is married. Is the father also in the U.S.? If not he will need to provide written consent for a passport to be issued.

India will screw with the mother and child. The child will need a visa. The child will be an alien in India and subject to certain problems with school attendance and tuition and reporting requirements.
 
Thank you so much for your reply..the father is in US currenltly but will have to go back as he has to resume office. They are ok to do people but still giving 30000 to 40000$ for delivery will be too much to bear for them. What is the alternative??
And also will the immigration create a problem for her to leave USA with her new born(dey shouldnt think dat she came to USA only for delivery purpose) after issuance of US passport?
 
She will not meet any immigration officials when departing the US.
