HELP: Received OPT with terms and conditions: 20 hours full time vacation

Help: :confused: I have a job I need to start in 4 weeks and I received an OPT with "20 hours Full Time Vacation" What does this mean? Can I only work for 20hrs? I spoke with my foreign student advisor and she asked me to contact the vermont service center. When I contacted them they asked me to contact the student advisor. The student advisor has requested a correction thru her INS contact. Can I do anything else to get this addressed? I am desparate at this point as I need to start working in 4 weeks. Can someone give me any additional info?

Do you remember what you filled out while applying for OPT....I believe there will be a place where you have to write # of hrs you intend to work...If you made a copy of the form before sending it to BCIS...I could be wrong on this...talk to your student advisor and ask a copy of the form

Regarding your EAD

I just became a member and I saw your message. My card is similar but i had not received that as OPT. What I am wondering is if you had applied for economic hardship and not for OPT. Please let me know. Also your card must say like this Student: 20 hrs Full time vacation (this means that you can work 20 hrs when you are enrolled and are a student but you can work full time during breaks and vacations). This is the case of economic hardship and if you have graduated then you need to find about your departure date.
 
my OPT card says nothing of that sort. Under Terms and Conditions it says: "Student: Optional practical trng".
