help please! about status before 485 approval

My NIW was approved last year while I was a Ph.D. student. Now my I-485 is still pending and I will graduate soon. My question is that what status I need to keep before my I-485 is approved. I already have my EAD. Need I apply for OPT to keep my F1 status? Any of your input would be appreciated.

Actually your status...

is "applicant to adjust status". For employment/university purposes you can start using EAD. For travel purposes get an Advance Parole. I do not think you are eligible to be on OPT (since it is another EAD and you cannot have 2 EADs under different classifications at the same time) My 2c
