I am on OPT and it expires in oct 2007. I am planning to go to india(this is must) mid of april 2007. Regarding H1 filing this april..., please suggest me.

I have 2 options

1) Apply with premium processing.., after its approval I can leave the country and comeback on OPT.

2) Leave the country and comeback on OPT, then file H1 in first week of may 2007. (This is subjected to quota issues..., mine will come under Masters).

I am in exact situation as you. Kindly let me know once you clarify the best option. I have lawyer appointment tomorrow. I will let you know if he suggests some way out to me.

I got email notification of H1-approval today. Thanks for ur suggestions.

Now, I am leaving the country on 17th April and flying back on 11th May.

So can I re-enter on F1(OPT with future start date of H1) status???
