Hello,

I am hoping I will get the help I need here. I am a US citizen living in Germany. I am married and we have a child. Our child is also a US citizen. My wife is from Serbia and was born in Germany. Now, we want to permenatly move back to the USA. We want to apply for a green card. Here are my questions:
1. What is the type of Visa (green card) my wife needs and what is it called?
2. What forms do we need and how much will it cost?
3. The medical examination, does she need to get one in the embassy or will one from a German doctor do? Does the examination occur on the same day if she needs one from the embassy or do we need to travel to the embassy again?
4. Do we need pictures of me and my wife in passport form? If yes, how many?

Thank you for any helpful information.

Thanks in advance

You wife may get an immigrant visa at the consulate

2. What forms do we need and how much will it cost?

I-130, whatever the fee for it is at the moment is marked on the first page

3. The medical examination, does she need to get one in the embassy or will one from a German doctor do? Does the examination occur on the same day if she needs one from the embassy or do we need to travel to the embassy again?

an embassy has a list of doctors who are authorised to perform medical examinations for immigration purposes. It is usually done in one day. You will most likely have to bring the results of the exam in a sealed envelope (don't open it) to the interview. They usually check for contagious deseases like TB, siphilis, Aids, measles, varicella, mumps... The doctor will tell you which vaccinations are expected of your wife at her particular age. Youc an actually look it up yourself at www.uscis.gov or the US embassy site in Germany.

4. Do we need pictures of me and my wife in passport form? If yes, how many?

Each immigration form has a specific number of pictures and supporting docs that are required. Read the instructions to the forms first.
