Hello dear forum members,

I'm a bit confused regarding some of the forms required for Asylum based AOS, would really appreciate your help and recommendations from your previous experience.

1. Do we submit the I-693 (medical exam) at the same time? Or is it filled later?
2. Is form I-643 required?
3. How soon can the I-693 be done (does it have to be done a year after the grant of asylum as well)
4. since the results of the medical exam is confidential, how do we know if we need to file I-602 (waiver of inadmissibility)?

One last thing, do you know if insurance pay for the medical exam or is it paid out of pocket?

Thanks!

I recommend sending the medical form along with the rest of the application package. Yes this form is required and it should be done shortly before you apply for your GC.

The doctor should tell you if he/she finds something wrong. If that fails, the USCIS will contact you later about filing for a waiver.

good luck.

Thankful, you always give me fast and accurate advice, Thank you.

it seems though you skipped question 3, if anyone else know please go ahead and reply.

Thanks again!

Maybe it is different now, but when I did it the complete results was not available until several days later, as there was some lab / blood testing needed to be done. I visited the doctor after a week to pick up the sealed envelop. I also verbally confirmed with him that everything was ok.
