Hi,
I have a stange situation I passed my test in May, 2010 but didn't get the oath letter. I hired a lawyer in Nov, 2010 to help me with my case. He told me that immigration will be sending me a letter for finger printing and then they will approve my case, which did receive. I had my FP done on 3/14/2011, since then nothing. How long does it take in normal cases to receive the Oath letter? I am nervous as you can see I am stuck. Please help.

Thanks a million.

Check the Oath schedules at your local US District Court website. Check in threads specific to the USCIS office you are dealing with to get an idea of the general processing timeframe.

It's long past the 120-day limit. Hopefully with your 2nd fingerprinting they've wiped the dust off your file and are ready to approve you soon, but if they don't decide your case within the next 1 or 2 months you should prepare to file a 1447(b) lawsuit.

Ok, my parents are visiting us. They can stay till June first week. I want to apply for their green card. When do i become eligible to apply? Is it right after i get the certificate? What are my options?

Once you take the oath you can sponsor your parents.

Spoke to my lawyer

Hi guys I spoke to the my lawyer who is dealing with my citizenship case. He told me if u don't receive oath letter before ur parent I-94 date then we will file for an extension. He also told me that I should not worry about the extension. It is a common this is a common thing. I want to file for the green card for my parents as soon as I get my citizenship without them leaving the country and my only choice seems to be is to file an extension for my parents. Please help...thanks
