Help - may not get arrest record for continuance letter in time

I went to the interview last month and was issued a N-14 continuance because I didn't have my certified arrest record and the marriage certificate (I applied on 5 yr rule, YL did not say to bring it).
I did have a record review from the New York State division of criminal justice service but: A) It stated they could not find any results B) it was not certified. The IO turned it back to me and claimed I printed it (this lady had issues). I also had the certified court disposition but the IO didn't care.

So today I have the marriage cert but I don't have the arrest record. The N-14 states the information must be turned in on may 8th. I received a letter from the nypd dated 4/11 stating a record *might* be sent in 20 business days. So far it has not arrived.

So my questions are:

1) where do I turn in the documents. The IO never told me where to bring them and the n-14 doesn't mention anything either.

2) can I get an extension to get the record?

3) If I can't get an extension, how long will it take to deny my application and when can I reapply?

1. You are supposed to mail it to them before the deadline.
2. No they wont give you one because they already gave you enough time to solve the issue.
3. They will send you a letter in the mail within 6 months after the deadline to mail them the proof. worst case maybe in 5 years.

Interesting update
So I guess I wasn't alone in thinking the original IO had issues.

I received a call a few days ago from a different IO. He told me I needed to come in to sign some paper work regarding the name change I put in the n400.
I'm thinking huh? It's been 3 months since the interview and have not heard a thing, I thought my app was going to be denied because I did not have the arrest record. The RFE letter said the record had to be in within 30 days. I told him I would not get the record until maybe october according to the letter I got from the nypd. He told me not to worry just bring the marriage cert in, which btw he did not understand why original IO ask for it since I was applying on the 5 yr rule.

Next day I go in and what a difference, this IO actually said hello!
We go to his office and fill out the paper work. He tells me he has my case now and he's going to push my app through. I ask him again about the arrest record and again he tells me again not to worry about it. He said someone else will review my file and if they challenge it then we will worry it. Other than that I should receive a letter in 2 weeks.
Oh and I told him about the original IO and how I thought this women had problems, he laughed and said "i know". Too bad he didn't get my file first, I would have had my citizenship already!

Good for you and your good news!

Someone in another thread was worried about things stretching out too long after interview and one reason I suggested was that the Officer's work was being scrutinized for errors or simply because (s)he was new to the job. Your case points out another possibility from which all readers can learn. Thanks for sharing.
