Help: Lawyer says sending RFE reply before last day doesnt help

I have received RFE on Feb 21 (485 pending since jan2002). Since then I've been pursuing the company lawyer to send the reply.

He is saying sending the reply before the last date doesnt expedite anything.

But I think he has wasted 2 months of valuable time.

I would really appreciate if anyone can share his/her experience regarding RFE replies. Especially something that I can show to my lawyer to convince him to send it earlier.

----- lawyer is wrong, the delay in sending RFE the delay in approval

---- I think the RFE is for I-485 if that is true request the lawyer to mail the RFE ASAP, I-485 belongs to you if you feel hire new lawyer and send the RFE reply to the service center( better if your lawyer who recieved the RFE sends reply back)
