I just learned that my H1 visa expired yesterday and the secretary forgot to renew it. Can I renew my visa now and remain legal in US?
----- if your I-94 is expired you may not get H1 renewed in US from USCIS, if only Visa stamp is expired but your I-94 is valid then you can file H1 extension. go to your lawyer for more info. FYI "secretary" or HR are not responsible you have to remind your employer it is YOUR duty to always check your documents like passport expiry I-94 exipiry, EAd expiry or AP expiry and you should also make copy of each document at home.
**VISA Stamp and H1 approval notice are diffrent, it is I-94 that states your status to stay in US. Try to know the diffrence between Visa Stamp and H1 approval and valid I-94
