Haven't got I-94 receipt after filing for 6 weeks in NSC.

I filed I-485 for my wife six weeks ago in NSC, but I haven't got the receipt yet. In the middle of the six
weeks, my attorney said there was something wrong with their check so USCIS returned the application and he had to re-file
it again. But still, it's been six months. Even worse, my wife's I-94 is going to expire in Oct and it's
not extendable. I do want to get a receipt before her I-94 expires. I have called USCIS, who says there's
no record in their system. What else can I do?

Keep bugging your attorney and he should be aware of the I-94 expiration.

-------------- your wife I-94 is valid till OCT and I-485 should reach USCIS before I-94 gets expired. why she cant get I-94 extended? are you not on H1 status? if yes you can file her H4 extension before her I-94 expires
I do want to get a receipt before her I-94 expires.

----------1-800? I dont think they can give you reciept. USCIS service center has to send the reciept after I-485 reaches them. If lawyer filed I-485 recipts will come to him. check with him
