Have Political Asylum in US. Want to move to Canada

I was granted political asylum in the US six years ago (I am from Kosovo) However, I would like to immigrate to Canada now with my boyfriend. Does anyone know if my political asylum status in the US would be an impediment (I do not have a passport, e.g.)

Can you tell us by what means you want to immigrate to canada? Through a family member(husband, fiance) or through skilled worker or any other form?

You are of course free to emigrate to Canada. Your lack of a national passport should not pose a problem because of your asylum situation (you need to double check with CIC as I do not claim special expertie over Canadian laws).

If the US finds out about your move to Canada they probably remove asylum status though.

If she wanna do it ....she good to go.
the civil war is over in kosovo ...she can renew her passport.
think twice about giving up your US legal status....I think living in united states is way better than living in Canada.

Can't you wait to go through your naturalization process to move out? Is it really necessary for you to do so right now? Anyway, you can go there as a skilled worker and I think you can even apply for that here. there is a document (I don't recall the name but you can find the information at any Canadian embassy) you can fill out while still here in the States and just wait for approval...Good luck

I have dual residency.... I got my Canadian residency through the same skilled worker program ....U must have US I-94 to show that u were admitted for atleast a year in the US if u want to apply from here, otherwise u will be asked to appear for an interview at your country of origin.... it is better for u to get US residency first.... or go visit any other country from US and come back (by air) so that u could get a new I-94........ feel free to leave me a personal message....
