Have GC incountry less than a year-> asylum possible?

Hello,
I got married and got GC, several months later my spouse developed mental crisis and at home on medication now. My partner acts differently now, and most probably going to divorce and threatens to do so, and to "make problems with immigration".

When I came here I planned to apply for asylum and even started to prepare papers, but then we got married and I never thought of that.

Now, I really don't know what to do. I remembered about political asylum because I am here less than a year and have some basis for that.
But I dont know if that possible now when I have GC?

I did try to get medical help for my partner but my spouse refuse this and takes some prescription pills only. My spouse, as I know, was never mentally disabled.
All i got is prescription drug list and court paper that says that on my call they can take the person for evaluation. But the way they do this, seems to me cruel.

My partner threatens me with "I will divorce you", "put you in trouble", and most probably will do that because of changed mental condition. This really distresses me.

What way should I go?

Can I legally file application for asylum, while having GC via marriage, because I have strong evidence that the marriage is going to fall apart because of my partner?

I would go ahead with asylum, As far as i know, you can apply for asylum anytime and I would say your GC is conditional so I would not really conceder it permenent residency or GC?
Consult with attorney as soon as posible and do not miss out the time(One year) you have for applying for asylum because it might be difficult if you paqss it but over all, you have a good reason that why you waited more than a year.

yes, my GC is conditional, and for now I am leaning toward asylum. yesterday I got a divorce note under my door. Does it mean that the paper near the door means it was delivered to me?
Anyway time is counting I guess, and perhaps my knowledge not enough to handle this and I need a lawyer for asylum.

What about divorce? shall I have a lawyer too (no kids and I don't want material goods/property from my partner)?

One attorney on phone told me to delay it up to legally possible maximum time. How it is possible to do that and what it can give me?

Any input will be appreciated.
 
If the marriage ends throught no fault of your own you may be able to preserve your green card. Get a lawyer ASAP.
