Congratulations! :) For now you're still futureuscitizen, but after March you'll have to change your nickname to imnowauscitizen :)

  • 6/2005: Application Received
  • 7/2005: Namecheck Start Date
  • 12/2005: Fingerprint Start Date
  • 02/2006: Interview date

------initiated numerous service inquiries thru customer rep, send letters to senator, congressman,vice president, first lady, cis ombudsman-----
------had enough proof to file a lawsuit. remember you have to be exhausted to make the judge feels like u had enough of those. (my 2 cents, but i am predy sure)
  • 12/2007: 1447(b) filed---Misc. Category (cost to file: $39) - (This will only apply selected district courts)

  • 2/2008:
    • Namecheck Done
    • Appointment for N400-update + Refingerprinting

  • 3/2008: Oath
  • Cost to file the lawsuit+mail charges + pacer access = <$150

  • The total value of time spent on getting this done: Priceless

Congratulations!!! You must be so proud filing the lawsuit yourself. I am so impressed, it cost me $2,500 + $280 to renew my green card!!! In other word you're giving hope to the ones who can't afford a lawyer:)

it was today.......

It was at the court room in NY and there were 62 who became citizen.

at around 8:30 they started to collect the GC and the oath letter

then around 9 they told us to wait till 9:30

so precisely at 9.30 the US judge came and the process started


so the whole thing took almost 2 hours
