H4 while H1 transfer is in processing

My H1 visa transfer is in processing and got INS receipt number for the same. Can I apply for H4 visa for my wife using the current stamping on my passport ? or I need to wait till my new H1 get approved and stamped on my passport ?

---- if your wife is not in US then better she shoulg go for Visa staming with your New H1 Transfer approval , you having new Visa stamp is NOT needed to get H4 with your H1 transfer notice

My wife is in India rightnow. Whether she can proceed rightaway with my previous employer's H1 approval notice, Visa stamping on my passsport and INS receipt number for the visa transfer notice. For your kind information, my H1 transfer is being processed. It has been filed with Nebraska INS on 26th May, 2004 and expecting to have the approval in another 3 to 4 weeks.

For your kind information, my H1 transfer is being processed. It has been filed with Nebraska INS on 26th May, 2004 and expecting to have the approval in another 3 to 4 weeks.
----- better wait for H1 transfer approval and on that base let her apply H4 Visa stamp
