Hi I decided to post a thread because I'm very confused this is my first time posting. For the past few weeks I've researching about the Visa Revalidation. I hope someone can help me or at lease clarify it to me. I've been reading the different posts in here and its very helpful but still I'd like to ask a question.
I came here in the US on H4 status when I was younger and changed to F1 when I turned 18. (Long story to tell but that is the summary of it). Currently I have a valid F1 status. But I have expired H4 Multiple Visa. I'm confused with the way the Immigration defines the Revalidation and Automatic Visa Revalidation. People sometimes use it interchangeably. What is the difference?
They say you cannot do Revalidation here anymore inside the US. So whats the difference between the "Automatic Visa Revalidation?" I'd like to visit Canada (esp. Niagara Falls & Toronto) by myself this Holiday. I'm going to apply for Canadian Single Entry Visa. My purpose of visit is strictly for tourism I'd like to spend just 2/3 days in Canada and return to the US. They say I can do that? Is that true? My case is different. Does this law applies to person like me who changed status?
To be honest I'm scared and confused
but I really want to visit Canada just to see the place (Someday I'd like to go to Mexico and Caribbean Islands since this law applies there too.). In case your wondering why. I'm a Tourism Management Student. I have plan for the trip and everything. I'm just feeling scared of Immigration Official they might not allow me to go back. Do you all think their all familiar with this "law"? I don't want to sound stupid but does the "auto visa revalidation" applies for all different ways of travel like by cruise? air? land? I read one post in here who keep explaining its only good for Land Crossing.
What do I tell to the official just in case he/she does not allow me to go back? I just know this law exist and I'm entitled for this kind of priviledge but still you never know what will happen.
Please guys help me. Does anyone have try doing this? I mean new experience besides the old post in here. Thanks people
