H4 issuance

Hello,
I am an Indian Citizen and I do not hold any Visas for US. I am planning to get married in november 2011 and My fiance is on H-1b status in USA, He is working in a company (and the company has already applied for his greencard. )

I have a few queries:

1) How long does it take to get an H4 Visa interview date??
2)Is it possible for us to atleast get a H4 Visa interview appointment with the US consulate before our marriage? wedding)
3) Our plan is to get registered marriage (before 5 to 6 days of our Hindu wedding rituals) and apply for the H4 interviews. Is it possible to get an appointment quick so that we can fly together to US after wedding??

Consulate will expect to see not only a marriage certificate but also wedding photos. Therefore you should schedule you interview only after the actual wedding ceremony.

Interview dates can be obtained in 3-6 weeks time depending on the case load at the US consulate.

Consulate will see marriage certificate, marriage photographs and you should change your passport with married name and spouse name on it (Mumbai US consulate prefers that) once get marriage certificate apply for new passport copy with married name.
Consulates in India at this time rejecting many H1 or H4 visa stamps with 221g.
Your spouse has to provide his H1 approval notice, copy of his I-94(front and back) Copy of his passport, Letter from his employer, his tax papers, his latest 5-6 pay stubs and Consulate can ask more documents from his employer if he is working with other client in US.at this time consulate can ask any documents.
***You will not be able to work in US on H4 visa status.

I have a question regarding H-4 too. My mom is with me here in US on her Tourist visa for 6 months but i want to file a H 4 visa for her under my H1B visa. is it possible? if so, when can i start processing? Any suggestion is greatly appreciated.

-Not possible. you cannot file H4 for your Mother. She must go back before her I-94 gets expired.
if so, when can i start processing? Any suggestion is greatly appreciated.

Only spouse and children are eligible for H4 status - not parents.
