Dear help,
I am a french man and will marry a japanese national residing in the US on an H1B visa. I want to join her on a H4 visa. My work in France is illustration for local architects, local authorities, local developpers only for local use and publication. A large part of this work can be done from anywhere through the internet. Part of it (I teach illustration) has to be done in France every 6 or 8 weeks.
As I read in
http://www.immigrationportal.com/archive/index.php/t-130428.html
I understand I find myself in the "grey area", where I can argue that my work is not related to the US in any way, then working at home in the US would be ok, for that context only. Do I have to ask for an authorization to the US immigration authorities to be able to do that?
Could it possible to be more precise in that very situation.
Weather it is ultimately possible for me to carry on this abroad business while in the US, it would not be a problem anyway if I travel out of the US 7-10 days every 6-8 weeks to do my teaching, agree?
Thanks for your help

Overseas employment/business cannot be cited as H4 violation unless you get the revenue in US dollars. So dont worry. May be you ahve to keep paying french taxes...

precisions...

Thank you Jaxen for your help.
Just to be more precise :

working at home in the US for my abroad business, invoicing my abroad clients who pays me abroad in foreign currency in my abroad bank account is fine under H4 Regulations.
Is that right?

Sorry, I might seem to repeat the same thing but I just want to make sure.
I will have anyway advice from the lawyer who will process my wife's H1b extension (she changes status from fellow to contractor in a Museum) and my H4 at the same time, in September.

Thank you again
