H4 - H1 - H4 Conversion

Hello All,
We have the following situation and need your suggestions.

My wife's H4 visa was changed to H1 last year(2005). We went to Chennai consulate and got it stamped till Sep2007. She completed her project in October and checking for new assignments. Meanwhile due to some personal reasons we decided to revert her status back to H4.

1. Is it possible to change it back to H4? If yes, do we need to check with her employer or can approach any lawyer?
2. If it is not possible to convert, how long can one be without a project?
3. Since we got the visa stamped till 2007 september, do we need another stamping once she gets H4
4. My greencard is currently under processing. When I include her particulars during the later stage, will the conversion of visas create an issue.

Any response will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
VJ

1) Nothing prevents her from changing her status to H4. YOu do not need to ask her employer to change her status.
3) If stamp you are talking about is H4 stamp valid til 2007, she does not need to have another stamp for a while.
4) No issue.

Thank you for responding.
I was referring to her H1B stamping which is valid till sep2007. If I change the visa to H4 do we need another stamping when we go outside US before this date?

Will these multiple changes effect us anyway during the GC processing?

regards
Vj

She needs valid H4 visa to reenter the US as H4 status. If her H4 stamp is expired or she does not have H4 stamp, she needs to get H4 stamp next time she enters the US.

Should be no effect to GC processiong.
