H4 Extention I539 pending and travelling

me and my dependant's have a Visa stamp and I-94 on my and my dependant's passport 30sep2003.


1)I filed H1b extention in July 23 2003.
2)I-539 filed on Aug 12 after receving H1b Receipt.
3) H1b Approval recived on 24Jan2004.

but still I-539 status is pending. It's over 220 days. currently they are processing for october and before.

What I can do for to expedite this?

Mean while me and my dependamts are planning to travel by the end of march.

Will It be ok ? to travel on I-539 pending. (180 days)...

I am worrying ..abt while me and my dependant go for visa revalidation at mumbai consulate......
I am planning for drop box . any experience.....

Any body in the same situation please advice...

---- Why you or lawyer/employer did not file H4 extension with your H1 extension at same time and in same envelope??
3) H1b Approval received on 24Jan2004.

Mean while me and my dependants are planning to travel by the end of March.
------ If you travel in March and your spouse H4 extension does not come by that time then she can get H4 visa stamp based on your H1 approval notice from consulate (She Must keep the H4 extension filing receipt with her and if consulate ask show them)
Will It be ok ? to travel on I-539 pending. (180 days)...
---- I don’t see any problem she was on status if she filed H4 extension before her I-94 expiry date

----- The disease has spread to Mumbai from Chennai; I have seen the delay for H4, H1 stamping for 4-5 cases in last 3-4 months, no need to worry every case is different. One lady officer is very rude in Mumbai (that was posted by others)
