H4 extension while my wife is India. Need Advise.

Hi Gurus,

My wife is presently in India and is planning to come back in Feb 2012. She has a valid H4 visa on her passport until Apr 2012.

While she is in India my company filed her H4 extension along with my H1B and I received the H4 approval letter yesterday.

Now my question is

1) Can she return back from India on her existing H4 visa or does she have to get H4 visa stamped again?

2) And if she can come back on her existing visa, does she need the new H4 approval letter?

Please let me know.

------------ She should show your H1 extension approval (Her H4 Extension approval is not must but if asked she can show) at POE. She will show Valid H4 visa stamp AND your H1 approval notice at POE and will get I-94 till your H1 Ext approval validity. For more info you can talk to your lawyer.
