My H-1 will expire Nov. 2004, but for no reason, my daughter's H4 will expire Jan 04. I thought the Imm. Officer forgot a 1 for the month in the approval. My questions are:

(1) Do I have to file extension for my H1 in order to extend my daughter's H4?
(2) What documents are needed? Is is possible to do it by myself? An attorney asks for $500, is this a reasonable rate for this type of case?

THANKS A LOT !

---- Yes, file the Form I-539 form before her H4 or her I-94 expires

---- You can do it your self, see my posting and visit thread:

---- Maximum pay $150+BCIS fees$140 or do it your self

After looking at the posts, I think the $500 is for both my H-1B extension and my daughter's H-4 extension. I will bargin a little bit to reduce the price anyway.

The other question is that if I have to extend my H-1B now in order to extend my daughter's H-4, do I lost 10 month out of the six year H-1B status?

Thanks again.
