My wife is on H4 now. She want to study as a Ph.D student. We are going to apply green card and EAD. Can she just use her EAD for studying and applying fellowship without tranfering H4 status to F1?Thanks.

Sure she can, the only problem is that some universities might give fellowship only to F1 Students. Please check on that, otherwise she is all setBlackie958 said:My wife is on H4 now. If she just wants to study, she doesn't need an EAD.
