h4 and i 94 expired

my h4 and i 94 expired more than a year. my husband got his new h1 in jan 2002 and my i 94 expired in sep 2002 ,we don't know that we have to apply for h4 extension till one of our friends told us .now we are worried and what is the best way to do ,besides leaving USA

Do not leave the US unless you sort this one out. If you leave, you will be subject to a 10 year bar from re-entering the US. Contact a good attorney as soon as possible.
