Hello everybody,

I´m concerned about the H4 limitations. I was trying to apply for health insurance for my wife but they said she needs a SSN in order to apply for it. What do you guys think about that?..I mean she can not be uninsured, we tried Blue Cross Blue Shield of the Carolinas.

Any help will be appreciated thanks in advance,

Roy

Can she not be added to your Employers Health Plan?? Or do you not have one.??
I added my husband to mine when he was a Trade Dependant TD, and he was on mine also when he switched to H-4. Had no problems what so ever.
He did not get a SSN until last year.

A Taxpayer Identification number issued by IRS should do in place of SSN.

TIN can be useful for paying IRS tax, opening a bank account.

Social security benefits can not be obtained through TIN such as (Childcare credits, driving license, health ins etc
)
