H1B visa question

I have a question about the 6 year period of the H1.

My H1 started from Oct 1st 2005. I came to USA on Jan 2007 and have not gone out of the country since. So my question is when will my H1 expire? Will is expire on Sep 30th 2011 or till Dec 2011 as I came here only in Jan 2006.

I talked with 2 different HRs and they said different things. Any help in this is appreciated.

Your 6 year H1 clock starts the day you arrive in the US, not the day the petition is approved.

nkm-oct23 gave you correct info. But Your H1 will EXPIRE on the date of your I-94 expiry date. your Employer must file your H1 extension BEFORE your I-94 gets expired. FYI employer can file H1 extension 6 Months Before the date I-94 expires Or H1 extension Petition must Reach USCIS Before I-94 gets Expired
