Hi,

Right now i am on H1b and my visa, will expire in january 2005. My employer is going to extend my visa this month. And also i am getting married in november this year. I have a few questions in my mind can anybody please share their experiances or suggetions.

1) can i attend consular interview along with my wife?
2) if any rejections, will my h1b valid till january 2005 as it is supposed to or they cancel the valid visa?
3) How many days before we have to come back to US before expiring the visa?
4) I came to US on June 2001 and went back India august 2001 because my employer didn't find project for me. I don't have w2 for 2001. Again i came back to US in January 2002 and since then i have been working and i have w2 for all subsequent years. WIll they specifically ask w2 for 2001 also because i stayed for 2 months?

4) can i attend Delhi, mumbai consulate as chennai consulate will be heavy crowded during November time frame. what are the reasons we have to explain on this regard to consulate officer in Delhi or mumbai? what are the documents needed from my employer if i want to attend Delhi consulate?

Can anybody please share their experiances or any valuable suggetions.....

----- if you also need new H1 Visa stamp then you can go with same day when she goes for H4 visa stamping after marriage

2) if any rejections, will my h1b valid till january 2005 as it is supposed to or they cancel the valid visa?
----- if you see any risk like LCA wages in past then dont go for stamping let your wife get H4 Visa stamp, if they dont find anything wrong with past H1B fraud or less wages than LCA then why they will cancel your H1?
3) How many days before we have to come back to US before expiring the visa?
---- one can enter US any time before Visa stamp expiry
4) I came to US on June 2001 and went back India august 2001 because my employer didn't find project for me. I don't have w2 for 2001. Again i came back to US in January 2002 and since then i have been working and i have w2 for all subsequent years.

---They can ask anything these days

H1/H4 visa appt in mumbai please help ginnu and experts

My name is Amit and I am working in US from last 6 yrs. My 6 yrs are up in Nov 2004. I have already got the H1 extension till Nov 2005. The H1B visa stamp on my passport expires in Nov 2004. I went to India 2 months ago and got engaged. I am getting married on Dec 6th. I came to US on F1 visa 9 yrs ago and I took it from Mumbai consulate.

When I go to India at the end of Nov, I will have to go to Mumbai consulate to get H1B visa. The last 2 times, I got my H1B stamped in Canada. Also my wife needs to apply for H4 visa. Can we go together? If yes, do I take one appointment through the web or two appointments?

Right now, it only shows dates upto Nov 7th on the web. How do I take appointment for Dec 6th? Is it better if she goes in person to the visa center to take an appt.

I am not married to her right now. We are only engaged. So I dont have the marriage certificate. And they want me to mail the marriage certificate for her H4 appointment. How do I take an appt before getting married?

Its taking 3-4 weeks to get an appointment in Mumbai. So if I wait to take the appointment till we get married, I will have to stay in India for more than a month. It will be very difficult if not impossible for me to take such a long vacation. The other option would be for me to schedule an appt for myself and then she will follow later. I wuold really hate to do this.

I would really really appreciate if any of you had similar situation or could help me? Thanks a lot. Also you could send me an email at amit500@yahoo.com also.
